Our Mission

URF-USA is an international and grassroots Community-Based Organization based on non-political, non-denominational, and non-sectarian principles.  Our vision is based upon bringing together all interested individuals and groups to join our efforts in ensuring that AIDS orphans, needy children, women, and marginalized communities (especially those affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic) are empowered and reintegrated into society as we develop and maintain thriving, productive, and sustainable communities in what is now a resource-poor and impoverished area.

URF-USA is an initiative of young Ugandans and Americans to respond to the urgent needs of orphans and adults in Uganda’s rural communities, especially those most affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  Uganda alone has an estimated 2.0 million orphans of HIV/AIDS and the regional war in the north of the country.   It is estimated that by the year 2010, Africa will be a home to 15,000,000 AIDS orphans.   The organization supports programs in areas of education (formal and practical education), empowerment of women, sustainable agriculture, HIV/AIDS education, and human rights.

The primary focus of our work at this time is support for the start-up of Hope Integrated Academy.
